01 The House

Four things share one room.

Katha opened in Banjara Hills in 2023, founded by Aditya Jaiswal with Pravishta Nadella. Not four businesses — one house that happens to do all four at once. Walk the length of it below.

02 Coffee

The story of Indian coffee.

Katha's founding idea sits at the counter, not on a wall: serve Indian specialty coffee, and keep the people who grow, roast and pour it inside the telling.

03 Bakehouse

Heritage, nostalgia, and viennoiserie.

The bakehouse sets itself an unusual brief: pay homage to India's culinary heritage and the food people grew up on, then run it through European laminated pastry and see what survives.

04 Stories

Seven threads run through the house. Pull on any one of them and the other six come along.

05 Art

The walls change.

Katha runs as a gallery as well as a café, and has never tied itself to one medium. Shows are hung in the room people are already sitting in — which is the whole idea.

06 Listening Room

Selection, not shuffle.

There is a record store inside the café and a listening room built around it. Katha is listed among The Revolver Club's vinyl spaces in Hyderabad — the crate is curated, and it plays.

From nine, the turntable does the work.

The room opens on records rather than a playlist. You notice when a side ends — which is rather the point of putting the crate where people can see it.

The quiet middle of the day. One cup, one side, and nobody in a hurry to change either.

Late afternoon is when the room fills and the sleeves start moving between the crate and the deck.

07 Community

It keeps happening.

Katha grew on recurring formats rather than one-off events — the sort of programming that turns a café into somewhere people arrange to meet.

The house sits off Road No. 3 in Banjara Hills, tucked back from the main run. It takes a moment to find the first time. Parking is tight — most people circle once and walk the last bit.
